Virgin's Bower (Clematis virginiana) is a native Clematis. Many non-native species and cultivars in this genus are showy ornamentals grown in gardens. Virgin's Bower is most conspicuous in mid to late summer, when its shaggy heads of long-plumed seeds ripen on the vines trailing over other plants in damp meadows and thickets.
